I thought they would somehow through DNA find out that Tommy wasn’t Ryan’s dad after all, but I was a bit let down by the ending.
I'm wondering, Sharon if the couple of loose ends may be leading somewhere.
Gness, which loose ends do you mean? Were you thinking perhaps about Neil?
I was hoping we might have seen a date with Catherine and Nev or a reconciliation between Catherine and her ex-husband.
Just 'cos I'm a sucker for a happy romantic ending.
I thought it was a good ending. All I really wanted to know was what happened to Catherine and TLR. The rest were an irrelevance for me.
Just how the Joanna/Faisal/Rob situation ended. Not major to the series. I'm just nosey. :-)
too many red herrings with unsatisfactory conclusions or none at all. What was that Alison character in it for?
The ending has an excellent review in the DM.

// Happy Valley provided one of the greatest drama finales ever seen on British television; as moving and unexpected as it was thrilling and thought-provoking, with moments of choking emotion as well as flashes of humour. \\

Well he was stabbed, overdosed and turned into a ball of fire, but I got a sneaky feeling he might just survive.
Did he Windy?
No.
He was 'in a coma'.
He was in with a chance for a little while (in a coma) but died in hospital. I almost felt sorry for him in the end. :0/
Catherine got a text when she was stood by her daughters grave to say TLR had died.

Does nobody pay any attention?
Did you see the text message about TLR?
I thought it an excellent finish. No loose ends, really, and the whole story put to bed and tucked well in.
May she enjoy her well-earned retirement :-)
Snap, Zacs.
I saw the text message.
Did anyone else think the ‘look’ of this last episode was different to the others. Filmed in a different format and slightly ‘sterile’ in some scenes?
But there are loose ends.
What happens to Joanna’s daughters? Do they grow up to be wrong uns? Does Poppy ever take her coat off? So much more to explore.
My "stabbed, overdosed and turned into a ball of fire, but I got a sneaky feeling he might just survive" comment was supposed to be humorous. I guess it fell flat.
