Do your very best work, stop, move on to something else, and don't let the impact and power of your original work be diluted by ever-weaker material.
The longer any artist's career goes on, the shorter the odds of providing sub-standard work get.
That's a simple fact of life - you cannot be brilliant all day every day, it simple doesn't happen, every artist of note has work that is below their best.
That's not to say that they can't carry on and re-gain those heights again, but part of the reason why early art is so successful is the energy and novelty and sheer 'newness' of making it, which cannot last.
It can evolve, but it cannot last.
So i think along with Frasier, this is a project doomed to endless comparisons, and sad failure, and that's a shame for all concerned.
