I’d like to see some more light entertainment at weekends like The Generation Game and I also enjoyed the series of Home Fires which came to an abrupt end

Ah, i see, Naomi. I was thinking of a regular boutique that sells stuff :-)
I suppose one scenario could be Basil buys it but his daughter runs it. Some scope for humour, there, i believe, knowing just how good Basil is at taking instructions from a female. He could be a permanent resident at the hotel, al-la-Major.
And of course it probably won't be as good as the original - maybe not even anywhere near - but i'll be giving it a look-see should it come to fruition.

Travelling Man was a series I remember really enjoying in the 80s. Leigh Lawson was the main character moving on from place to place searching for someone. It was a bit of a mystery and I don't remember it coming to a satisfactory end.
