I hadn't been for at least 16 years or more.
So understandably i was a tad apprehensive, expecting lots of noise and loads of ads.
Well would you believe me if I said the audience were completely silent and there were no ads?
The film was called 'Triangle of sadness'.

Brilliant performance hazlinny, it was in Birmingham, around the 70s again. I seem to have done it all in the 70s, and lost it all in the 70s. :0>
Longer than I can recall. I had intended, on retirement, to go make regular use of the matinee offers at my local cinema, but things changed and that became unviable.
If NTLive counts then about five years ago as it was a way to see their productions. Even then I once had to ask two women to be quiet which is why I don't go to see films. No cinemas near here show NTLive. :-(

Can't recall when I last went to see a film.
Went to see Bohemian Rhapsody a few years ago and before that it was to see Tootsie back in the early 80s.
I do remember going to see a film in Calgary in 1982 but that was because the mother in law was visiting and I needed a break. ;-)
No idea when I last went to the flicks.
If I was pushed to give an answer, I would say when Mr. B and I took the girls to see The Lion King.
About 1 hour ago . Just got home now . Went to see Puss in boot's 10 out of 10 . Everyman York.
This morning. Silver Monday Club.
1979.
And what did you see NJ ?
John Wick Chapter 2 so that would be 2017.
The film was utter dross but the good news is I've only two more payments to make and the bill is clear.
That'll teach me to buy popcorn AND Maltesers.
2005… kingdom of heaven.. braw movie
oddly enough I have been twice in the last year, once to see the new Top Gun and once for No Time to die. Before that the last time I went was for Spectre.
....and yes piggy, I too was expecting it to be a bad experience but it wasn't.
I would very much like to see the new Top Gun on a big screen TTT. Trouble is now is I need a really good seat to sit in or I cant sit for long.
miss, well our new Odeon , well new to me, was amazing, big comfy seat and all the tech in the world the experience was excellent.
It's been a long time for me too. Cannot remember the last film I saw, but I do remember getting up & walking out as the film was rubbish!!
I saw Titanic at the cinema. Wide screen & full volume it was like being on the ship!!
Haven't been since Dave died, we used to go most weeks, sometimes twice. No idea what the last film was probably marvel or something with Tom Hardy.
I was wary of going TBH, I nearly got arrested a few years ago because of some brainless tawt on a phone. Who goes to the flix to play with their phone?
Sounds like me, two girls in front, giggling and texting so I asked one of the staff to sort it.... They were told to move, got very mouthy they were removed with threats they would wait outside for us... It chucked it down while the film was on, they didn't wait.
