Why do you really think Angela Bassest lost that oscar to Jamie lee curtis.

She had hot dogs for fingers.

Although i love Jamie, I feel this was a slap in the face.

what are your thoughts?

The Academy decided that Ms Curtis was the better performer in her film, than Ms Bassett was in hers.

I am not sure to whom you refer with the 'hot dogs for fingers' reference, but i doubt it had any bearing on the result.

As to why The Right Honourable the Lady Haden-Guest won an Oscar, I imagien you're right.

Even if two Oscar-nominated performers are equally talented, one may appear to be better than the other because the movie that they're in has a better screenplay and/or better direction. So the Oscars can never assess raw talent alone but only how it's put to use in a particular movie.
