I should be glad to see the back of Aaron because it makes my hackles rise when his name is pronounced as Arran instead of Airon. Am I alone?

No doubt this will get removed as being unPC but my dad used to say a rhyme that went "the Lord said unto Moses all Jews shall have long noses, all except for Aaron and he shall have a square 'un" so that is how I would always pronounce Aaron.

What used to be irritate me was the mangled spelling of Irish names when they were fashionable with non-Irish parents some years ago. I lost count of the variations of Siobhan I have seen, including Shuvon and Shevorn. Rosheen, too, instead of Róisín
