Celebrity Race Across The World

The BBC have made a few series with non-celebrities, but this time four well-known people each with a family member, making four teams of two, race through 24 countries from Africa to the Arctic to reach the final goal.  With just the price of the usual airfare to exist on unless they find work along the way and no phones and no flights allowed, it's no mean feat.  I would love to have a go at it.  Is anyone else watching - and would you do it?

I have actually applied to go on it, but I suspect that I've been ruled out because I'm too old!

Oh that's a shame puzzled.  I wonder if there is an age limit?

Applications for racing this year closed in April and there is no age limit - just have to be 18 plus

I enjoy this programme very much. If I were younger then yes as Mr N is very logical and thrifty !

I never understand why some of them put their position in peril by going off sightseeing.  I would be so focussed on the race.  If I wanted to see anything that badly I'd go back another time.

I wonder whether the singer and her mother will be in trouble if it is discovered they were given money and use of a credit card by strangers ?

I don't know the ruling on that, Floko.    Was it them who looked at someone's phone to locate the friend's home in the south of France?  Is that allowed?

It does, floko.  I did think using that phone was a bit suspect.  With the directions they're given at the end of each leg, they've been known to struggle to find the hotels they're looking for but if they can use someone's phone it makes it much easier - which surely defeats the object?

It doesn't say they can't use other people's though does it?  I wonder if they'll be eliminated?
