Far From The Madding Crowd - Julie Christie
On now.
Surely one of the most beautiful women who had ever appeared in film or on television.

Far From the Madding Crowd was the first book I ever read that I enjoyed and made me a lifelong Hardy fan. As a 15 year old I dreamed of being Bathsheba Everdene and pretended I was her. If she was ever played on film she needed to be a sultry dark Elizabeth Taylor type as I pictured her, hence I personally was quite disappointed in Julie Christie. Not the way I'd perceived Bathsheba at all.
Naomi - Again never read any of the books, or watched any of the TV series.
That said, even I would see David Suchet as more suitable as what I understand is a 'small dapper' Belgian detective.
Mr Branagh is clearly neither of those!
Miscasting is clearly down to who is paying, rather than who is actually credible.
Audience feelings clearly not considered for a moment.
