I haven't got a scooby. Who is/was Richard.E. Grant ?

Question Author

the answer doesn't matter, he gave the name of a film rather than a character!

Question Author

Sorry It's not Ian Vivian MacKerrell , just Vivian MacKerrell.

I would guess you used the internet to check the spelling and under no pressure at all, you managed still to add a random first name.

I think we should add that he was extremely flustered but then superbly got £90K at the table with 2 goes to spare.

Easily done under pressure, under the spotlights!  You've been there, haven't you, TTT?

So what was the answer then, I've never heard of him in any version of his name.

It's a culty film that I've never seen but do know it's Richard E Grant's famous role (he hasn't been in much) - Withnail & I (the character being Withnail).

I think TTT will have to concede that anyone can make a mistake, even him!

Utterly epic fail from the Mensan.

Given that this site is called the The Answerbank, why do you find it necessary to post these statements ad nauseam?

You really do not make yourself look intelligent in your attempt to belittle others in an effort to make yourself out to be the fount of all knowledge.

Over the years, I have worked with some very intelligent people ( some of whom have been members of Mensa) and they've never displayed the snobbery which you do.

You clearly have an inflated ego.

I look forward to seeing you on Mastermind after you have told us your real name, so that we can see you display your prowess and win hands down.

Until then, give it a rest. It's getting a bit boring.

22:56 You miss the point, with all of these the answer is usually irrelevant. The point is that he was asked for a character and gave a film.

Question Author

08:00 Well if you don't like it ignore.

Would there have been any benefit in terms of points/prizes in saying "don't know" instead?

Question Author

well "pass" would have been less amusing but then he would not have been immortalised on AB.

Weird.

08.00 BA!!!

"The point is that he was asked for a character and gave a film."

You knew the name yet you got it wrong by adding, "Ian" to his name so you're hardly in a position to mock.

Withnail & I

Wot a load of poo!!!

I wouldn't have known the answer to that question so it wouldn't have mattered what I said.  I'd have been wrong.

i think nerves get the better of some people.  That's why they sometimes give bizarre answers.
