This Town

Did anyone watch this last night?  I've recorded it to watch later, it doesn't really appeal but what did you think of it?

I watched about half of the first episode - I'll watch the rest later probably.  It looks promising.

Good.  I would have expected this to be set in Coventry but of course Steven Knight has his film studio in Birmingham

It's set in Birmingham and Northern Ireland circa 1984 I think during the Troubles.

set in Chelmsley wood - huge ( really huge) housing estate on your left as you enter Brum from the south ( Bristol)

The last huge one 2500 dwelling units I think, to be given planning permission without one shop facility mall included in the plan.

the terrorist bomb in the Mulberry bush was 1974 - ( which was real: they just got the wrong people)

I'm on holiday ATM,and seen it last night, I'm undecided.  Mind  Dante character was very watchable

I happened on this by accident last night and wondered what it was about until it became obvious from the dialogue.

I wondered where the hugely depressing scene was set: large, bleak seaside carpark with that looked like an island in the background.
