How do you pronounce Laos? Google says it rhyming with "Mouse" but Adrian Dunbar, the narrator, keeps saying Laow rhyming with "how".  I say it's like google says.

If its pronounced louse it outta be spelt louse.

Spell it laos and you should pronounce it la os.

Laos is the Anglicised version of the place...to the inhabitants it's Lao...so he's keeping to the localised pronunciation.

Oughta be against the Lao.

I'm with Adrian Dunbar.

Happens all over...we call the Austrian capital Vienna - to them, it's Wien. London to us, Londres to the French etc.

17:16, yes that is the title of the program. What's your point?

Which programme?

Oh, I see. I'm supposed to know that it's the name of a programme.

Question Author

17:21 Well this is film and TV and I started the post with the title of the programme as is common practice in this section. Thought it was pretty clear, how do you think I should have worded it?

You should have worded it, How do you pronounce Laos.

Then you can go on to say, in a recent TV programme etc.

Question Author

Don't be so argumentative. This section is about film and TV look down the list over half of them lead with the title of the film or TV they are talking about. Are you having a bad day? Trying to pick a fight?

Isn't it Bolivia that has what is considered as the most dangerous road - if it ain't the height and hairpin turns, it's probably the drug-runners out on it.

Question Author

Well this one was dangerous for a very different reason! Lots of US UXBs all over the place.

One of the best UK ones - one I have been up and down several times - in winter, it's hell but we had to use it in Mountain Death-crew rescues..... if it isn't the ice, it's the cloud.
