Can anyone remember a series which was on sometime in the seventies? It was about a policeman who found himself waking up as a policeman in times past. He was a rough and ready Sweeney type bloke and he found himself back in the 50s/early 60s with a load of Dixon of Dock Green plods who knew the local villains by name and made their suspects a nice cuppa tea before they arrested them.
Yes, it does sound like "Life on Mars".
