Hi folks, have you ever come across a famous person by accident? I've seen Bob Mortimer in a McDonald's early one day in London, didn't want to disturb him as it seemed inappropriate. Have you spoke to them and how did they react?

Early 60's, consecutive years, same place same time - Dickie Henderson and Peter  Vaughan, outside Queen Street Station in Glasgow Saturday afternoon.
Both graciously contributed to my St Vincent de Paul Society collecting box, but rejected the proffered flag with pin.

Dermot Morgan (Father Ted) was behind me in a sandwich shop queue in Soho. I met Derren Brown in a Starbucks near Leicester Square. And, both less randomly and more shocking, during the World Matchplay Championship I was at a urinal in the Wentworth toilets and Seve Ballesteros joined me at the adjacent urinal. Of course, we never spoke ...

I've mentioned this one before. For the lst 12 months of my army career, i was Regimental Photographer and, one sunny day looking out of my window across at the Garrison Arena, i saw a rider putting his horse through it's paces.

I grabbed my trusty Pentax, went outside and approached the arena, clicking away as i did so. It was only when i got close up that i realised said rider was Capt Mark Phillips.

A rather swarthy guy told me to cease taking photo's but then a lady intervened. She asked me who i was and, when i told her, she gave her permission to carry on photographing the horse and rider.

The lady was the rider's missus, Princess Anne.

I sat next to Cathy Staff on a tube train when i was about six, so I'm told. As an adult, i bumped into Mick Jones of the Clash in Morrisons one evening. He was buying a meal deal. Nice chap.

While staying in a hotel in Paris, many decades ago, we were eating breakfast at a table next to Dale Winton, but I didn't interrupt him as he was eating.

When at the Leadmill in Sheffield one night, again many decades ago, Ultravox were playing an impromptu low key gig and my friend had a massive crush on Midge Ure at the time, so I asked the bouncer if we could go backstage and he said yes. Sadly my friend was too nervous to meet him so a couple of us went back stage without her and had a few beers and good chat with band. I sat next to Midge and ran out of questions to ask him so asked him to sign the beer bottle for my friend then left.

At Leadmill again, the Housemartins played a gig then were drinking in bar afterwards and spoke to them while ordering drinks at the bar.

I bump into Chubby Brown and his wife a lot as he lives in same area. I smile and say hello and he smiles and says hello back.

My mum and I had photo taken with David Dickinson when he came to town with his real deal show at town hall. We had no antiques, just popped in to get a quick photo with him really. Seemed a lovely guy.

Saw Timothy West strolling along Regent Street many moons ago. Quite a few more whose names I have forgotten.

Does this count, I was at school with Billy Currie of Ultravox, of course he wasn't famous back then and only played the 🎻

Tom Jones in a Indian restaurant in pontypridd. Us welsh boys singing green green grass of home to him, but Tom and his 2 security men didn't join in.
