The program was of the period regarding dress and living accomodation - I lived through it but........not one person in the episode was seen smoking either in tne home, the circus or the police station!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.It would make it more authentic to show some smoking in dramas set in that era and it is not against any broadcasting rules as it shown after 9pm . I know they use prop cigarettes, usually herbal, but maybe the actors don't want to smoke anything these days. Geordie used to smoke in previous series, but Robson Green has been on a health kick and given up drinking. Maybe he's given up smoking too.
I can't remember the last time I saw anyone smoking on Corrie - I think they've taken down the ashtray near the door of the Rovers.
Glamourising has long been banned before 9pm on TV but I hardly think an old cop smoking a Park Drive on Grantchester could be accused of that.
