mods get criticised because they do things in secret and do not act according to site rules. a mod doing something and refusing to explain suggests that they know it is not actually defensible..

this thread does not break any rules. watch it get removed.

posting this question does not violate a single rule!

*uninitiated

Oh dear.  Overzealousness strikes again.

i did find this gem in the rules

"19. Due to the high volume of posts, all editorial decisions are final, and discussion relating to the removal or editing of posts will not be entered into by the AB Editor."

well that "high volume" comment is looking a bit outdated lol

Perhaps Ed should change the name to ModBank.

they'll definitely get the last word then!

It must be bad if even gulliver and I agree on something.

youngmafbog even agreed with me this morning. i thought the sky was falling in.

adversity can make strange alliances me old china!

Ah, now it makes sense. Get voted in as a mod, hope that means your posts become sacrosanct. Figures.

it is quite possible to just complain until you are made a mod. it has happened before. don't see any reason why ttt shouldn't try it.

Question Author

It's quite clear that some of the current mods have succumbed to bias and favouritism. One of them endorsed an insult to me on another thread. Another is a troll's pet finding links for him. My posts get removed all the time, those of the insulters remain. This is like bent coppers in 20s Chicago. Is it time to change the mods appointed from the rank and file with new ones?

Awwww, diddums

Question Author

Another highly intellectual contribution from tweety pie!

Where's that tiniest violin when you need it...?

as recently as two years the editor said that it was "frowned upon" for moderators to act on threads that they were involved with. that principle for a start seems to have gone out of the window.

-- answer removed --

UNTITLED, the Spare Ed also said, "Moderators should try to avoid moderating disagreements that they are involved in unless the site rule that has been broken during the disagreement is very clear and defined." [emphasis added]
