Nip/Tuck

I managed to miss last week's episode on Sky One - and last night there wasn't the usual "previously on Nip/Tuck" catch up at the start. I've checked the episode summary on a fan site and it just says "Julia fires Quentin" - why did she fire him? - was it because she found out he prefers men to her??

Julia fired Quentin because Sean told her about him catching him having sex with the soldier in the Mcnamara/Troy surgery.

Julia argued with her mother in the beginning of the episode and told her to leave town. She then saw a report on the news that the plane her mother was scheduled to fly on had crashed. Julia, Sean and Christian went to the crash site to a makeshift hospital to help out. Julia coped much better than Sean and saved a woman's life. Christian tells Julia that they have found her mother but that she is badly burned, unrecognisable and already dead. Julia speaks to her mother and tells her that it was alright that she (her mother) didn't love her as she (julia) didn't love her either. As she is leaving the "corpse" starts wheezing and fighting for breath. Julia puts a pillow on her face and smothers her mother.

Julia speaks to Sean and he tells her she would have been a much better doctor that he is. Julia says she is relieved that her mother is dead and that she feels free.

The episode ends with Julia returning home, she enters her apartment and shock horror finds her mother sitting on the couch! She didn't get on the plane as she wanted to straighten things out with Julia before she left town.
