Well the film has a certificate PG but I found some of the pictures I saw in paper a bit disturbing and I'm 27!!

My 5 year old has seen all the LOTR so Narnia was pretty tame after it. Aslan is obviously killed and those of a sensitive nature might not like to see his demise but overall I think a 6 yr old would handle it fine.

As much as I love the movie, I would say that it depends on the 6 year old. As you are asking, I would suspect that you probably take sufficient care over what your child is watching for some of it to possibly be a bit scary.

You could go see it yourself and decide! It's well worth 2 viewings (if you are the sort who can enjoy films that are made for a family audience).

My six year old daughter loved it and supported the Dark Side. She has decided to become the white witch when she grows up and has begun training her kitten as a witches familiar. (Not that it needed much training.)
My nine year olds response was more normal and she snuggled up to me a little more.

Hi, my 5 year old and has seen it and he has been fine, I haven't seen it myself, so I don't know if there are any 'scary' bits.

He doesn't like scary things and I know he would have mentioned it to me if anything had bothered him.

He had a few bad dreams after seeing Star Wars episode III, but what can you do when he is Star Wars crazy along with his 7 year old brother and all their friends. I couldn't really stop him from watching it.

I think an average 6-year-old would be OK. A sensitive one wouldn't. There will probably be one or two emotional bits, but it's well worth it. The story in the film is clear enough to understand even if the child has not yet read the book. The film is excellent, and vastly superior to Harry Potter. I have seen it 4 times so far. At the most emotional bit [Lucy finding the statue of Mr Tumnus] I cried all 4 times.

I work with teenagers and young adults with special needs some of who have a mental age of 6 and lower and they enjyed the film. The killing of Aslan was not too long and drawn out. there was major battle scenes similar to a small-scale LOTR battle but without the awful looking Orks which I think could easily terrify a 6 year old. I thought the film was put over really well and was not overlong - the new Harry Potter film had more siniser elements than Narnia
