The same friend also claims the woman who played the hairdresser in Coronation Street (not Maxine) and also the mother of the young gay one in Queer as Folk has a mangled arm? Is this true?

Cheers Jansy - I don't remember ever seeing the little hand.
Also Gerry Cowper who plays Rosie Miller in Eastenders has a gammy left hand and you will often find that they use camera angles to disguise it.

I will keep my eyes peeled for Rosie's gammy hand too Surreyman :oD It seems there's a whole industry of cack-handed celebs out there - and I thought Beadle was the only one :oO
when "Denise" had Ken's baby in corrie, you saw a lot of her arm and hand then. they didn't seem to disguise it at all.
I remember reading in an interview that Denise Black is not at all self-concious about her arm, but producers and directors vary in their approach to such things.
I don't follow Eastenders but I'll have a look at Gerry Cowper's hand in The Wicker Man to see if she had it when she was a little girl, tied up and ready to be burnt in a large wooden efigy
How many of you remember Gerry Cowper (Eastenders) as the older sister in SWALK....80's channel 4 teen programme??? The other younger sister has been in Eastenders too as Cindy Beales sister (from what I can remember).
Dont know whether to laugh or sigh at your description of her arm.Slightly deformed might have been a better abjective:)
