Hi everyone.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows if there is a "special" name for the mechanism that is used in some films (alien resurrection, tomb raider, blade) that keeps a gun/knife concealed in a shoe, or jacket and then with the correct, slight, movement the weapon is released into the hero's hands/toe of their shoe.

If anyone knows what I mean (hopefully you get the idea) could you let me know what its called, if it even has a name.....

Cheers guys xox

Don't know what it's called, but I know the gadget you mean. Two that come to mind are Col. Kleb in From Russia With Love (she had a knife that popped out when she kicked one shoe against the other) and the White Angel character (Der Weiss Engel, Laurence Olivier) in Marathon Man (he had a device up his sleeve that 'shot' a concealed knife into his hand with a flick of his wrist, I think it was).

I don't even know if there's such a device available or if it's just an imaginitive invention of the writers. Come to think of it though, if somone's thought of it you can bet someone's made it too!
