what do you think of the new series 'Lewis'? I enjoyed it. but at the end, I didn't understand what Lewis's superier said to him. What is a "bagman" Will Lewis's sidekick, the ex-seminary man, be his future partner? I thought they made a fine couple, a bit like Morse and Lewis in reverse place.

I don't think that it is a new series - I think that it was just a one-off drama.

thank you EuanC !! What a pity, I didn't know that. Perhaps they will decide to make a series later.! I hope so.

a bag man is simply a follower or learner. Like a caddy in golf. But remember, when advice is needed or a decent second opinion wanted, a good golfer will always turn to his caddy first.

Overall a good show though. I think Morse should have left him the Jag in his will though.

i was a bit confused too, about what his boss meant. I think this was a pilot for a possible series, and Lewis is certainly a strong enough character to 'hold' the show as the lead. The story was a bit intricate though, and I'm not sure whether the Morse link to the case was a bit tenuous. Hathaway grew on me as the programme progressed, but he seemed a bit of a brown-noser, always on the phone to his boss - Ms Innocent - what a name!
And I agree with Ward-Minter about the Jag. It will be sorely missed.
I thought it was excellent- good story. I always liked Lewis and I liked the way the programme was shot.I believe they are making some more, that one was the pilot.Morse was always a quality series and this one looks set to be the same.

kevin whately was interviewed on radio 5 by simon last week, and he said it was a one off, but depending on how it was recieved it might be made into a series - at least, he hoped so!

personally i think it was good - although lewis hardly covered himself in glory - 4 murders and then the murderer commits suicide before he can be taken away. Mind you, morse always seemed to have the same problem (people murdering over and over untill he caught them). I didnt quite get how he arrived at the conclusion it was the tutor anyway

No doubt it will be a series as 12million watched it, apparently. As long as they get rid of the quite terrible Rebecca Front as his boss....
I too thought it was a good programme, from the same mould as Morse. Unfortunately I fell asleep and woke up to see the tutor pop his clogs. Could someone enlighten me to his motive as I can't guess what it could have been?

Yhanks.
er, thanks!
the woman who was murdered had found a flaw in his maths theory which would have exposed him as a fraud ... i cant for the life of me work out why he killed the 2nd man, and he killed the student because the girl had sent him (the student) an email with her theory
Aha!

Thanks for that.
