In The Simpsons episode Blame It On Rio, Lisa says that there are clues as to what state Springfield is in. What is your best guess?

I opt for Ohio, and there is actually one there, and also I think a Shelbyville. However since it is a fictional place, maybe the writers have not actually decided. We know they like to play this game anyway, and if there isn't a correct answer then it will run forever!!

Remember the (Artie Ziff/Marge/Million dollars!) episode where Homer went to West Springfield to maintain oil rigs? The map showed West Springfield as being three times bigger than Texas!!!

there can be no real sringfield cause it has to be on the sea (as seen in many episodes) have an oil reserve and has numerous other incongruities that stops it being one place however as TW says the new england area seems to be most pleasing.
