I have the soundtrack to this animation, the main track sung by a frog with a banjo (of course!) called 'Love Is All' but I'd really like to know if the full BBC animation is available on DVD or video anywhere. I have a copy of the 'Love Is All' video but not the whole Butterfly Ball film. I'm sure there's a different version of the Love Is All song as well and I'm positive they used it's tune in an advert for a kids drink, not unlike Um Bongo. Any info would be gratefully received! x

As far as I an aware the promo for "Love is All" is the only section of the proposed fully animated version of "The Butterfly Ball" that was ever produced and I recall it frequently shown as a filler on British TV during the mid and late 70s.

The animation project having fallen by the wayside, it was incorporated into the 'psychedelic' mish-mash of concert performance and live action that is the 1976 film of the same name and is due for DVD release in the US on 14th March.

Thank you very much for all this info kempie. I have the Halas & Batchelor video which has the Love Is All video, but I'm sure I watched something a bit longer on telly but I will get all the videos/DVD's so I know I've got everything. I just think it's really crazy but I really like it!! Many thanks again.
