Where is Kirk?

What has happened to Kirk from Coronation Street (Andy Whyment)? He has not been in Corrie for ages and there has been no mention of him. Has he left the programme. Does anyone know anything?

he,s had time off to do that singing competion on itv (soap superstar i think) i,m sure he,ll be back soon. i don,t know how corrie have wrote him out has he gone to visit his parents in spain?

To my shame I hadn't realised he'd not been in it for a while. Perhpas the sheer effort of keeping up with Fizz's animal magnetism and intellectual depths has exhausted him and he's lying in a small dark room with a bag of frozen peas on his head.

I think they 'rest' characters occasionally - especially after they've had a recent big storyline (the thing with him, Fiz and Molly) so other characters have their storylines more in the spotlight. You'll notice the Mike Alztheimers storyline isn't as prominant at the moment either, as is the Rosie and Craig underage sex story.

ronnie, maybe but Cilla Sunita and Craig have all been seen since Soap Star Super Star. And unless I missed it they didn't mention him going off any where.

helliebobs I think that is probably the most likely explaination. I'm sure if he had left it would be all over the papers.
