Does anyone have any idea what a 'silver badge' is with regard to UK Goverment ministers. There were references to it in the Xmas episode of Yes, Minister. Apparantly the holder (the minister) could use the badge to park where he liked and to get out of trouble with the Police - if my memory is correct it was used when the minister was drink driving.

Did this badge exist, or does it still exist?

A quick google search has not revealed anything of use.

I don't think it exists, invented purely in the interest of comedy.

These days a minister would probably not drive them self anyway

The MP's or Minister"s Badge is fictional and does not exist.
