Was Dangermouse popular in America? It seems to be the basis for Dangerdog in Simpsons episode 'They Call Me Mellow Yellow.'

Seems so. It was on Nickleodeon, then Cartoon Network and there are enough US website that mention it.

Ah, well there you see lies the question. We had Dangermouse who was pretty weedy and Penfold who was a totaly bookworm and the folks across in the US had Supermouse, subtle difference. Supermouse was brawny and was basically a rodent version of...you guessed it, Superman! I personally perfer Dangermouse, way cooler!
