I have my friend coming to stay and we want to watch a really scary horror film. One that will make you really jump. Can anyone recommend a good one? Thankyou-Amanda

CREEP was quite scary

I once watched a film called (pronounced) Kolobus - not sure how it's spelt. Big Brother style gory-of-all-goryness! We had to turn it off 3 times before e could watch the whole thing.

If you prefer ghosty stuff you can't go wrong with the Ring and the Ring 2.

Or if you are more into reality based stuff I have been told that Wolf Creek is horrendously scary!

Hope it helps.

the ending of Carrie can still make you jump. Rest of it is creepy rather than shocking.
You've probs seen it but ALIEN takes some beating! plenty jumps in there! "In space no-one can hear you scream!"
Well you have the classic The Exorcist, The Ring, Saw, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (recent one) is a good one, House of a thousand Corpses will scare the crap out of you, Amityville (the recent one) The Skeleton Key and then classics like The Shining, Evil Dead and Nightmare on Elm Street, hope this helps

i'd also recommend CREEP. if u want somethin to make u jump that's gotta be top of the list.

RING is also good.. the original not the remake. it's subtitled but that only adds to it.... very scary

the original THE GRUDGE is also very scary.. that's also subtitled.

creep sounds like a hit then. Is the new amytyville good? the old ones scared me. I saw the japanese the grudge, yes scary and the ring was scary too
Candyman, Candyman, Candyman, Candyman, Can..............No, I'll stop there!
As a horror film fanatic I have concerns on the Creep option. Quite mainstream/creepy underground monster thing. Good film but have a backup. X
The Eye!! Tartan asia movies are very creepy!!
How about Saw, it certainly grossed me out, but I still could not stop watching.
I agree SAW. It's a brilliant film, scary, jumpy and you'll NEVER guess the end :)
I love horror films but the recent texas chain saw massacre is one of the most disturbing i have ever seen
jon1968 is so right im a big fan of horror films and candy man is one of the top ones, creep is also quite good dont get out wolf creek though it is utter *****
Another good one, although its sci fi, is Event horizon. The Shinning is still the best for me, no matter how many times i've seen it, it's still scary.
The wicker Man, or 10 Rillington Place. Not mainstream scary but two of my favorite films.
I posted this as an answer earlier, but Switchblade Romance is a terrific french horror, real watchin through the fingers stuff.
lol sorry but house of a thousand corps will not scare u but only make u laugh alot!!! me and my friends watched it thinking it was going to be really scary but we all just laffed and found it very amusing!!!! so dont watch that
A really scary film, it's a bit old, might be late seventies, 'The Changling'. With George C Scott. Probably pick it up quite cheap, been on the telly a few times. BOO!!!!
