I just feel a rage building. Its shocking, the things they did.
Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys and which side are 'we' supposed to be on?
...I don't often cry at tv progs, but I did tonight, what a disaster of a world we live in...
It was terrible. Were the lads talking to the camera the actual prisoners or actors? I wonder how they are still sane after their ordeal.
The lads talking to the cameras were the actual prisoners. Guess what the actors got arrested at the airport in UK after coming back from a screening of the film in Europe. Guess what it was under the terrorism act. Guess what it was in yours and my name.
they are traitors to their supposed queen and country, what did you expect? a 4 star hotel on the beach?

well said spaced

you people need a reality check, Unfortunately I have lost friends in the army to various situations that SOME of these SO called innocents have been involved in.I have no sympathy for these people whatsoever. and some of you need to realise that in meida you can make any programme look shocking, they do it for effect and ratings.

Just out of interest did you actually see the film spaced and skellen?

Yes I did. The film made no difference to my feelings about these traitors to our country, who are quite happy to live here but at the same time kill our soldiers.

They deserve everything they get, inclduing being locked in cages and being dragged to interogation rooms. I have friends in the forces, who I would like to see come back alive.

Were you watching the same film!!!???
How can visiting another country make you a traitor?
These were just some young lads (a bit daft perhaps- but if that was a crime most of the country would be locked up) looking for some adventure, getting into a situation that they couldnt handle and being held and tortured, without trial, for over three years.
At no point was there any evidence they were involved in any activity that justified their imprisonment .Otherwise they would have been charged and would still be imprisoned wouldnt they?
Either you didnt watch the same film as i did or your ignorance and prejudice has made you blind to the truth (much like the United States of America in fact).

gary, you actually beleive that *********. Who in their right mind would go to afghanistan or anywhere around there in the middle of a bombardment and war??? If you believes those kids, then you really a silly and naive boy. dont believe everything you see on the box mate. trying to make the so called "brit born" taleban fighters look less guilty.

What about the other prisoner at Guantanamo??? I suppose they were all there for the same wedding? Please! Traitors, non traitoirs, people firing at and killing our soldiers need a good shoeing. thats my opinion. end of.

I have no reason not to believe them because they have been cleared of any wrong doing. It seems that you have apparently gathered some evidence that slipped by the might of the Home Office, MI5, the FBI and the CIA that makes these lads guilty. I'm sure these people would like to see this evidence because despite three years of illegal detention and torture they were unable to prove anything and had to let them go.
Perhaps if you feel so strongly about this and you have this miraculous evidence, that the combined security forces couldnt produce, you should take out a private prosecution against these lads. You seem so sure they are guilty then you are bound to win arent you?
Who's the silly and naive one?

its not that i have proof its just that I like being devils advocate and I think that it is required in this scenario. These kids probably were "in the wrong place at the wrong time", but it amazes me that people were horrified of what they saw last night. How can you feel anything for them, when these, not necessarily the kids, people are killing our soldiers, some even parading other innocents on the net and chopping their heads off. That is why I dont care about them being beaten and tortured. If the roles were reveresed, they would do exactly the same if not worse.

now this is what I call a debate.

Not denying anything you say but two wrongs dont make a right. The actions of some fundamental groups is abhorent but no worse than the actions of the USA.
What the USA is doing only serves to radicalise previously moderate Muslims. The US have lost the moral highground with its illegal treatment of detainees.
As far as killing 'our boys' goes - well forgive me if i misread the idea of being a soldier but i was always under the impression that part of the job description was the very strong likelihood that you are going to get killed.
Blame the people who send your friends into hostile situations not those on the other end who, when push comes to shove, are in the same situation as your mates.

A close relation taught the Tipton Three at Alexander High School and was not at all surprised when he heard of their arrest.
