Following on from the below post about the ITV drama The Best Man. I thought a lot was left unanswered, but I may have just not been paying attention.

Why did the detective's son kill himself if it turned out that Michael had killed the girl in the first place?

And if iit was Peter covering for Michael, why did he feel the need to maim anything associated with Michael or Kate?

I was just about to ask what happened at the end as I fell asleep but after reading answers at the posting further down dont think I will make head or tale of it as the whole thing took a bit of understanding . But would like to know what part the detective was involved in it. missed the last 20 minutes.

i thought that the detectives son had killed himself cos he got framed for the girls murder and was so troubled by that untruth (!) that he killed himself?

Natalie, i thought the same thing about peter covering for Michael, i think he must have had some sort of obsessive issues with friendships or something. was a good prog but i didn't feel like enough was answered though eh?

Seems all of the ITV dramas have the same (pap) ending..... Class of 64 (?), The Best Man, A Good Murder (did anyone get murdered in that apart from Niko?).......

i was left feeling like i had missed some of it although i didn't. i did enjoy it but thought it left too many unanswered questions. didn't quite get why Peter took Mr Jinx or what happened to him. It just didn't explain enough.
