Do you think there was any justification for the calls for Peter Jackson to rename the second installment of LOTR following the events of 9/11?

As I remember, the World Trade Centre was always called the 'twin towers' which would make the alteration of a film title even more tenuous.

That's a bit of an Urban myth Einstein have a look here http://www.snopes.com/index.html
Regarding the Two Towers, I read some really quite disturbing comments on websites by Americans denouncing the travesty of film makers taking advantage of the 9/11 disaster. It seems to me that most of the people who called for the change were unaware that the original book was published in 1954 and as Andy says the the title is not the same as the TWIN towers of the WTC
Einstein, that's probably not true. Here is a link for you http://www.snopes.com/movies/films/george.htm
The same was said about Apollo 13, with a doddery old Academy member refusing to consider the movie for best film, because the hadn't seen the previous 12 in the series. Again, a fallacy.
Ok so 9/11 was bad etc but so were the 2 wars but films are still made today. This is an example of the US trying to rule the world etc. but overall no if there was a name change then people would go why?? oh 9/11 then think about it and put 2 and 2 together. people only notice big changes and this would of been a big one. SO NO no reason to change the name whatso ever. Even if the book was called say....9/11 still dont change it. what about if you were born on that day?? change ur birthday?? nope. sorry if this reply upsets anyone.
None whatsover.
Co-incidentally the BBC have covered this today.
