i have missed a few episodes recently on bbc 1 but i was wondering where sharona had gone. Also could you tell me which series of monk is being played at the moment on bbc? thnxs

BBC are currently running Season 3.

It was during this season that Bitty Schram (Sharona Fleming) left the series. She has said that she didn't want to leave the show but suspected she "was being paid less than many people who got raises" and she couldn't "work out a new contract".

Within the storyline, Sharona and Benjy moved back to the east coast; the resulting vacuum being filled by Natalie Teeger and her daughter Julie in episode 10 "Mr. Monk and the Red Herring".

All true above but I'll add that Sharona remarried her ex-husband. Doesn't sound too believable to me, given the way she used to badmouth him. Apparently some fans are upset with this development.
