There was a cartoon in the 60s that featured a hillbilly character called 'Pa Rug'. He walked around dragging a shotgun and mumbling. What was the cartoon called?

Sounds very much like the paternal character in the Hanna Barbera "Hillbilly Bears" cartoons. There was also a mother and two kids. You described what Pa did much of the time: drag a shotgun and mumble.
