Which characters scared you as a kid?

I remember going to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and being terrified when the Kidcatcher came on... I really thought he was going to come out of the screen and get me... Mammy!!!

I was taken to a Dr Who exhibition whilst holidaying in Blackpool. The darleks moved about on their own & scared the s*** out of me, I had nightmares for weeks.
Well, I was going to say the Childcatcher too, until I came in and saw you'd said it already Gazza, so, I'm going to have to say Skelator from He-man (and She-ra) Also the baddie from Inspector Gadget (cant remember his name) you never saw him, just an arm and the back of his chair.... for this reason. I'm convinced, he and Skelator, are infact the same man! :o)
I still have nightmares about the evil dwarf from "The Singing Ringing Tree", and what about the dolls with snappy teeth from Barberella.
Robbie the Robot from the film 'Forbidden Planet'. Meant to be a semi-comic character in that film and looks like a 1950s juke box on legs. But when I was 9 years old and saw him on TV - in the 1950s in the 'Thin Man' TV series - I had nightmares!
The guy in Thunderbirds who had those thick bushy eyebrows, a bald head and eyes that lit up whenever he was being evil. Was his name "The Hood" or something similar? I feel ashamed to admit this, but i used to get so scared that i'd hide behind the sofa until his scene had finished.
The Incredible Hulk from the 80's TV series. I think it was the fact that you couldn't reason with him, and he basically just went beserk, with nothing or no-one able to stop him. I had nightmares for years, despite being told he only hurt the bad guys!!
Daleks; scarier even than Freddie Kruger.
Hugo Fitch from ;Dead Of Night' which gave me a morbid fear of pupppets and dummies that lasts to this day.
King Kong (original b/w) The child catcher, The film The Haunting......couldn't walk up the stairs to bed after that one. Was convinced something was hiding behind the presses on the landing.
I remember watching Michael Jackson't Thriller as a pre-scholar and being terrified of the werewolf bit. Still disturbs me when i watch it as an adult!!
Dr Who and dwarves in any capacity.
The Witch from Chorlton and the Wheelies.....
metal mickey scared the **** out of me, still does!!
The flying monkey's from the Wizard of Oz - bejesus ! Very wrong. And still give mime artists and clowns a very wide berth - much to amusment of friends !!
That white skeletony ghosty thing in black beauty, something to do with a runestone or something, and there used to be a sci fi serial on children's tv in the 70's called Sky with this bloke from another planet who had weird eyes he freaked me out.
Cruella De Ville scared the living bejesus out of me. Still gives me the creeps now im old, well old-ish.
oh, and the Seadevils from Doctor Who. They were truly awful. Clowns freak me out as well.
The Cybermen from Dr Who scared the bejasus out of me , used to have nightmares !!
