opal toffees?

Can anyone remember an advert in the 1960's for a product called "opal toffees". Everyone I have mentioned this to over the years recalls opal fruits , opal mints but never opal toffees! I can clearly remember the advert there is a bloke sitting on a sofa reading a newspaper with his girlfriend cuddling up to him asking him to give her one ( an opal toffee I mean!) can anyone confirm that this product ever existed? thanks

I remember Opal fruits very well, we were made to drink a third of a pint of milk each day at school and I used to suck an Opal fruit to get rid of the taste of milk.

Never heard of Opal toffees though

I have to say I don't remember Opal Toffees, though like most people you seem to have spoken to, I remember Opal friuts and Opal Mints ( Spearmint flavour if I remember rightly ). I think Opal Mints had a white and green striped wrapper round each mint.

I was born in 1962, so maybe Opal Toffees weren't round very long.

I love opal fruits, now starbursts...but they dont sell them at my local shop anymore...!!

I vaguely remember that one, but thought it was for opal mints.
The ad I remember for toffees also featured two people (can't remember their genders) & went something like this:
1st charatcer: What you doing?
2nd character: Chewing
1st: Chewing what?
2nd: Opal Toffee
1st: Opal don't make toffee
2nd: They do now
1st: How do you know their opal?
2nd: They make me mouth water

My wife goes mad at me cause I can't remember what I've been told last week , but I can remember things from the 60's with such clarity that it amazes her .
In my memory I can clearly remember a chap and his gal sitting on a sofa he's reading a paper and he's holding a packet of opal toffees in his hand .They are hidden from her view but she says
her- can I have one?
him- one what?
her-opal toffee
him- I haven't got any.
her- yes you have.
him- how do you know?
her- cos they make your mouth water.
Must go now as I'm off for my holidays to Sadsville Arizona!!!!!
