just for fun really, i'm interested in doing a survey to all ab members, what is your best or most memorable ending to a movie, apart from the obvious sixth sense which i actually guessed honestly....

my favourite ending of recent years has got to be matchstick men starring Nicolas Cage totally unexpected.. Heist with Gene Hackman was another good ending, But I want to hear your favourites maybe I'v not seen them, and can get to see them.

many thanx stott

Couldn't pick just one

It's A Wonderful Life, Psycho, Se7en, Raider of the Lost Ark, Planet of the Apes, Planes Trains & Automobiles, Princess Mononoke, When The Wind Blows

Psycho would be my choice. Not the fact that Norman Bates was dressing up as his dead mum, but the last scenes in the police office when he's sitting there with a pathetic blanket draped around him and his "mum" is still talking to him and saying she wouldn't harm a fly.

It always makes me cry.
Roomster its my fave too and I'm one of those annoying people that force it on others coz I think its so great :-) Has me in tears every time. Queen latifas is the best. :-)
memento, an fight club, both have great endings

hmm, knee-jerk response: Thelme and Louise, Butch and Sundance, The graduate.

Has to be Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I die laughing every time I watch it.

I loved the ending of the original Italian Job....classic. Also Momento and Pulp Fiction and The Game.

Quizmonkey - you're the only other person I've ever heard of who has seen and liked Identity.

Best twist...ever.

sp1814 was Identity the one with the nine strangers in a hotel.....John Cusack etc?? If so, that was great. I had totally forgotten about it, but that was a very good ending.....

..the truman show... aww sniff

shallow grave- scared me , because of the sheer greed possesed by humans

boogie nights- err need I say anything

leon makes me cry when she plants the potplant

die hard - just for the unlikely closing soundtrack ever

an officer and a gentleman"way to go paula! way to go!"

The ending of 'Love Actually' always leaves me blubbing.

That last scene in 'Dances With Wolves' (where Wind In His Hair is up on the cliff shouting that Dances With Wolves is his friend) is definitely in my top 3 endings of all-time ~ sooooo powerful and emotional.

The ending to 'The Breakfast Club' is an absolute CLASSIC ~ it brings back so many memories of my teenage years.

'Shawshank Redemption' and 'Fight Club' ~ simply GENIUS endings to genius films.

I adore 'Fried Green Tomatoes...' and ALWAYS cry at the end.

Gosh there are just sooooooo many good ones.

I'll shut up now! x

... Almost forgot this one ... 'Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit' ~ MARVELLOUS!

Robocop - when the old guy says 'What's your name son?' and Robocop just turns round and says 'Murphy'. I know it's not your typically brilliant ending but I went to see it at the pictures and at the end everyone cheered and that's stuck with me for the best part of 20 years. When I watch it now it still gives me tingles! Sad but true! :-)

justjools I'll buy that for a dollar
Se7en (Seven) Won't give the end away :)
The Ususal Suspects and also Leon. great endings. Also liked the ending for Finding Forrester, mainly cos of the soundtrack.
leon and the usual suspects for me too.

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, really brilliant and funny ending.

Snatch, again as above. Both end the way you don't expect! Great stuff.

What about "The Crying Game"?

It was jaw dropping.

If you don't know what I'm on about then watch it quick!!
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. The big man lifting the heavy water thing and throwing it out the window to escape.

Justjools- i know what you mean, Robocop was the first 18 certificate i ever saw at the cinema and even thinking of that last bit gives me goosebumps (it was the birth of a legend like it or not). Also i have never seen so many answers is this a record?
