Thanks :o)
I used to love this. There were several series, but the three I liked best were those that went from the 1900s to the '70s. The two sets of families from the first two series were joined up for the third.

They had some fine actors who went on to do all sorts of things, not the least of whom was the gorgeous Peter Howitt (Joey in 'Bread').

Remember when a load of the Bradley Pals regiment were killed in Passchendael? Such a moving programme.
Kempie - How do you do that - make an URL answer into a different hyperlink!? Thanks!
Just looked at kempies links and its funny because kebabmeister also had the same vivid memory as mine about the 1930's family and the sunrise/ sunset window pane.
I agree with saxy about the actors aswell - there were some really good (usually northern) actors in it.
Although it was pretty low budget it was apparently the most expensive Programme for Schools and Colleges.
It was worth it though because we all remember it eh?
I'm wondering if they would bother to do something so high quality nowadays. I'm sure it would still be as useful a teaching resource now as it was then though.
