I didn't see the episode in question,but: William Katt (The Greatest American Hero) played Paul Drake Jr in Perry Mason,and played a character called Walter in House Vs God,season 2 episode 19,which may be the one.

It was William Katt and he did play Paul Drake Jr in Perry Mason. Interestingly (?) the actress Barbara Hale who played Della Street in Perry Mason is William Katt's mother in real life. See http://www.nndb.com/people/042/000024967/ for more information.
