Lost - The best theory?

There have been hundreds if not thousands of theories behind the whole Lost thing, espcially on <A target='_blank' href=&quot;http://www.imdb.com&quot;>www.imdb.com& lt;/A>. But what is the best and most believeable theory to date, about what the hell the island is and what is going on??

I don't care what it's about ultimately... i avoid the theories, in theory, and i LOVE it!!!!!

I thought last night's ep on ch4 was cracking. The end made me go all peculiar.

NOTHING else on tv does that any more.

I agree with Whickerman that the writers probably have little idea themselves at this stage and are just building suspense and keeping much of the story as open ended as possible.

I hope they don't drag it out and finish with a very unsatisfactory conclusion like the X Files, Invasion or the one my father always moans about, The Fugitive.

One of the writers has said that the ending has been decided from the very beginning. I've heard a lot of speculation. Most interesting theory being that everybody actually died on the plane crash at the beginning and are now being tested in some kind of limbo.

well if you want to see more then i advise you all get winamp coz you can watch a lot further into series 2.

3 series is pushing it, 5 series I am not going to watch. Its been dragged too much as it is.

I dont believe that it has been commissioned for 5 series. I have heard that the actors have signed a 5 yr contract to stop them from leaving the show, but this does not mean that there will be 5 series....sorry, I dont believe it. Will ask the yanks on IMDB about the show going on for 5 series.

That's what's been said in the American press, my man got back from business over there a few weeks back and all his American colleagues were going on about it. I totally agree with you though that 5 series is just tooooooo much! I've watched up to the end of series 2 and it isn't finished, there's still so much left open for the next series, doh!

My theory is they are all really dead,and are living in some sort of purgatory.A bit like living in Wolverhampton.

They all seem to be running away from something in their lives,I just hope after following the series the ending isn't a cop out like the time tunnel was in the 60's.

And 'the others' are real people on the outside,from the hospital perhaps,when someone dies on the island they are being brought back to life!!
