I'm still puzzled by the apparent need to say 'arks' instead of 'ask'............. what's that all about...?

And when someone says 'how are you' they reply 'yeah, I'm alright'.

I do think sometimes thought that the actors are not cockney enough and says things like 'you' instead of 'ya' or 'yer' e.g. 'Peggy saying I'm relying on you' when a real cockney would say I'm relying on yer'

I noticed the 'arks' things too purpose whats going on there? I think the actor who plays Kevin is the most wooden actor on the tele. His voice is so one-toned its cringeworthy.

Most black people say arks instead of ask, and so do most white teenagers who hang around the streets in their hoodies and baseball caps,who for some reason adopt a kind of Ali G twang

i dislike sa-ink for something, but here in liverpool many say suh-nn so i really can't complain.

i donlt understand the problem with what you said lankeela, about 'how are you'

and that people would say you or yer depending on the emphasis of the sentence. most accents do the same thing

i rtemember of rock school, gene simmons taught the extremely posh kids to sing 'god gave rock and roll to you'

they all began singing 'god gave rock and roll to YAH' and really emphasised the 'yah', obviously they assumed that, as its a rock and roll song they mustn't pronounce the words properly - it sounded ridiculous as in the original they say 'you' (which they did listen to)
