i was a bit confused about doctor who on saturday because at the begining of the two parter rose said this is the story of how i died. then just b4 she spoke to the doctor for the last time she said it again. but she didn't die! can someone please explain what she meant. thnks
At the end her Dad from the parallel universe took her and her mum back there at the last minute in order to save them being killed with everyone else in the dalek/cybermen wars and all that vacuum stuff.
Then the breach was closed and left her and the doctor in two seperate, but parallel universes. In this universe, if you listened to their convo at the end, she's officially missing presumed dead, but of course she's alive in the other one.
Suzy, I watched Dr Who Confidential afterwards, and they were talking to the producer bloke. Apparently old Dr Who groupies are never killed off. It's just something they never do.
The "producer bloke" (aka Russell T Davies) didn't say they never kill companions off, he said "it was never an option to kill Rose, that's not what Dr Who's about, it has to be optimistic." He didn't mean to imply companions have never been killed off, indeed as Postdog rightly said the annoying Adric was thankfully blown up during Peter Davison's time as the Doctor. Also there was someone called Katarina who got killed during the William Hartnell years.
No problem. I always enjoy that Confidential programme, sometimes those 'making of' shows can be very self-regarding but it's hard to resist the genuine enthusiasm and affection Davies and his team seem to have for Dr Who.
