Film about old haunted car

Bearing in mind I may have dreamed this - as no-one I know can remember it at all - what was the film about an old evil car that whoever owned it came to no good? It may have been a really old style black beetle? As I recall, in the end it went over a cliff but then a few years later some people found it in a scrapyard and decided to do it up again, hence starting the whole evil process all over again. Any ideas?

Thanks for that - I've had a look at the description and the trailer (which looks quite scary!) but I don't think that is it. I have a vague memory that possibly bonnie and clyde were in the car at some point, and it was shot at? It was a really old style 40's type car (maybe not a beetle but something like that!)

Rosie, my mom had a book called "LIFE (as in LIFE Magazine) GOES TO THE MOVIES" and in it there was definitely a picture of Bonnie and Clyde being shot at in that particular car. I'm sorry I can't help you with the title of the movie but at least I can help assure that you didn't dream it.

I have Life Goes to the Movies, just ploughed through it and the only picture of Bonnie Parker being riddled with bullets (whilst in the car) is from Bonnie & Clyde the 1967 movie with Warren Beatty.

Sorry, but cannot think of the film you're referring to.

Can't possibly be Duel, as in that it was the menacing driver of the truck that was evil, not the car.
