ah, that makes much more sense! I thought he'd done a Lulu or a Sheena Easton and had elecution lessons...
Question Author
sorry, I meant elocution, of course!
Hope your Aunt doesn't swear like him though....!
how weird....to me he DOES sound Scottish, and I'm a Scot. Please do bear in mind that not all folk from Glasgow speak like your stereotypical weegie ned. The gentile folk of Kelvinside and Bearsden would be horrified at the very thought!
And he used to play for Glasgow Rangers as well
his family are originally from greenock
as am i

yes, I'm from Largs, so I don't have a strong accent either, but I cannot hear the scot in him at all! I knew he used to play for Rangers, which is why I was so surprised when I heard him speak! I really expected a Phil Kay style accent - Scottish, but not too strong or overbearing.
awww kick, i'm one of the gentile mob then!! i'm a bearsden lass!! xxmy dad curls with his uncle, who has a very broad scottish accent...but Gordon has lived in London for most of his life so its no surprise his accent has softened.
apologies, i meant to say down south!!!!!
