cult killer & 'the family'..

what did everyone make of this documentary tonight on channel 4? i found it very sad for Rick who committed suicide, and the other people who were children forced to do stuff because they were in 'the family'. i found it very hard to watch as its one of those things where you just cant believe that they got away with doing stuff like that.

parts of it were just really sick and twisted, i mean that story book of Rick & i think her name was Davida from the Age of 3 being made to pose. Then also the video of the 7 year old who was made to do a striptease thing to music because it was what god wanted!!

Yeah i found it quite sick too. The worst part is no one has been arrested. I feel really sad towards Ricks friends and so on.
I wonder how on earth a mother could let her child go through that let alone join in!
But i also wonder how they could believe it was what god wanted, surely one of them had read a bible before?
Its sickening to know that it is still happening to this day. I feel sorry for all the kids that were involved.

i felt really sorry for his wife, because they had just set up their 'own' life, and were happy.
totally agree about the worst part being that no-ones been arrested, i think that is ludicrous! Is the 'family' still happening today? because i though after what happened it just faded, although i dont think it actually said unless i missed it.
what happened to his mother?

another thing which i never knew was that River Pheonix's parents were part of 'the family' which makes you wonder whether thats why he committed suicide and turned to alcohol and drugs like his brother Joaquin has been doing too.
