Lucy became blind when she fell down a well. As I recall, she got her sight back but carried on pretending she was blind - why?

was it not because she didn't like her dads jim gf and she wanted all the attention from her dad so she kept on pretending she was blind.I always thought there was a storyline that she lost her memory.

I think you might be right about the blindness. Was that older Lucy who lost her memory? It rings vague bells.

i'm not 2 sure if it was the older lucy that lost her memory it may have been i remember something along the lines of she lost her memory and then got it back but she didn't tell anyone but her gran found out somehow.

there were 3 lucys weren't there? - jailbait lucy (played by Kylie Flinker and yes i am a sad puppy for knowing that without looking it up). then the plain one in the middle who didn't last long and then the sexpot one who was a table dancer in a nightclub or whatever. i'm sure it was the first one who played this cunning blindness stunt, wasn't it?

Yes! Definitely the first one - she was well annoying as I recall. Quite unlike the harlot that the third one was.

The first Lucy kept pretending to be blind cos she wanted attention from her dad. The second one lost her memory cso she had a brain tumour. Sad, I know

It was the 1st Lucy who was blinded. It was 'hysterical' (ie-shock related blindness) when she had that scary fall looking for her dog (Bazil). She claimed to be blinde after recovering so as to kept the atention of her/Jim's friend Ruth Wilson. Lucy's 1's other illnesses were- A bee stung her throght and Clive Gibbons gave her a tracheoctomy on the tabel. She was Jelouse of Jim's friend Zoe Davis, poured a jug of water over Zoe and sent her a therttenig phone call. Zoe whisteled in the phone and burst Lucy's eardrum. Lucy 2 had a brain tumor, that's why she became so clumsy, silly, arogant, fogetfull that season and finaly passed out infront of the T.V. ! Charlene found her asleep, tryed to wake her and called the ambalance. Lucy 3 had no illneses that I can recall of- I stoped whatching in 1995. Obviosly her luck grew with her age, snice she left erisborugh in good helth.
