Does anyone remember on Childrens BBC/ITV in the 1980's or 90's the Friday Film Special?

It was like a Enid Blyton story with children always foiling baddies plans eg robbers etc and always started with loads of pigeons flying away from Trafalger Square?

Help! no one knows what i'm talking about!
