i believe the dvds come with both the original and new versions of the movie.
The difference being that the original version wont have been tidied or altered in any way.
One for the real fans,i think.
Nope, not the new versions. They've got rid of the crappy song and dance routines and the Greedo shoots first thing. Now I've got myself started...

First disc is a tidied up digital remaster affair, and the normal version (ie. the film that was shown in the cinemas way back when) is on the second disc in its grainy glory.
Surely your desire to make George Lucas even richer should be enough incentive to buy the new special editions.
If you already have the boxset, you have the 'new' versions, cleaned up picture, better sound and added effects.

The forthcoming edition has those, plus the original, as released versions, and some more 'making of'-type stuff.

If all you want is the film, you've got the best versions already.
i prefer the original untampered with versions myself
so will be buying the set-as brainmonkeys says no song and dance routines
remember the ending where the spirits of the old obi wan and old anakin apper togehther? well in the new version they have changed it to the teenage anakin.
Not the one's that came out on Monday. It's all the original footage. Joy!
