cant see the fascination myself.i found it quite hard to watch and a tad confusing!
Question Author
i just watched and thought it was very good - if a little predictable - i like rachel weisz but not sure why she deserved an oscar
It is the worst most over rated film ever made
Question Author
oh ...ok...what do you like then?
absolute rubbish!
Question Author
ok ok calm yourself....what exactly is rubbish about it? enlighten me
Hello again minimonkey :o) xx

I just felt it limped along and I found the ending was very anti-climatic.
Question Author
fair enough...my mate is out doing some relief work in africa so i guess i found it a little more interesting - wasn't convinced by ralph and rachel being in love tho!!
I liked it very much and thought the performances were excellent; I'm not interested in Oscars etc but have no problem seeing why RW should win an award. Overall I found it quite chilling, very well-made.
Question Author
not really chilling - most people know the alleged goings on with pharmaceuticals etc. not overrated at all then backdrifter??
No - didn't find it overrated, but then I don't recall seeing/reading any reviews or anyone I know raving about it, so can't judge it against any of that. Also, I don't agree that awareness of a film's subject matter prevents it from being chilling - you imply only the unknown can be chilling.
Question Author
you missed the hype then...and i don't think it was chilling ...just a terrible fact of life
I have the utmost respect for Ralph Fiennes, I think he is a great actor, but I thought this film was a real stinker.

I'm not saying that my opinion is more worthy than yours mini I'm just giving you my opinion on what I thought.

In fact on another site I nominated this as the most boring film ever made.
Question Author
no i thought it was good but then again i was kind of doing other things whilst watching it so it didn't hold my attention as much as i ahd hoped.....like everything else it seemed more gripping in the trailer......i just didn't think it was oscar worthy and i take your point!!
kev you have been supremely privileged in the exciting film stakes if you thought this was the most boring film ever made. And you clearly haven't seen the Antonioni film The Passenger. Or Picnic At Hanging Rock.
I haven't seen those Backdrifter. Actually I've just thought of a film that for me has to be the most boring ever, it was called "Conversation" starring Gene Hackman, but I still think for me that the Constant Gardner is way up there.
