what does anyone else do with these wretched things when its inevitably some CD or DVD you have never heard of, let alone want to watch?

I feel bad just chucking them in the bin, can you recycle them or something? they drive me insane!

usually park them on the coffee table and use them as mug/glass mats....

or actually if you have loads and loads of them, try selling them on ebay, start the bidding at about 10p and if someone wants the films or music they'll use them and you dont have to worry about them being a waste?
play frisbee with them or use them to fend off zombies a la shaun of the dead
I`ve kept the ones that interested me & gave all the rest to a charity shop.
...make them into xmas decorations, flog em and make loads of money...

...or type in "mandalas" into google images...

I use mine in the garden as bird scarers.

I have sold some on eBay - especially ones that are part of an on-going set.

Some go to the charity shop.

The rest go in the bin.
They're excellant if you have a second holiday home or an apartment - you can keep them there for rainy days !! Often the kids ones are great on a wet & rainy afternoon.
Drop them off at a Charity shop? Somebody out there may have different taste in music/films and be grateful to pick up a cheap CD.
make Pat Butcher (or what evere she is called these days) earings out of them.
