'Early Doors' - the new 'Office'?
7 Answers
I've just watched the final episode of 'Early Doors' and I feel exactly the same as I did after i watched the first episode of 'The Office' - I wished I'd taped it!
Does anyone else agree that when it gets a repeat showing on BBC1 this autumn, it will take off and enjoy a similar, if not quite as runaway success as did 'The Office'?
I think it's a triumph of ensemble playing, with a script that balanced on a knife-edge of comedy and pathos - which is waht true comedy is all about. What do you reckon?

I have to say that I thought Early Doors was a fantastic regional ensemble comedy. Two charactors that are outstanding are Phil & Nige(Craig? Phil? who was the genius who wrote their parts?).Believe me they do exist.Whilst working in a restaurant in the 80s these 2 would call every night for freebies(food & drinks)Many years ago now we live in a house above a clothe's shop, the window was smashed in the "early hours"seriously however more stuff was taken when the police arrived,a large transit was parked across the window,so you couldn't see from ground level, but from above we had the perfect view, everytime I see Phil & Nige,I think of the days at the restaurant & maisonette in Wythenshawe,M/Cr.I am reliably informed by a friend that series 2 is being aired on Monday 13th September,I'm told that it is even funnier that the first series. regards Mike H.
