extras series 2

does anybody else agree that this second series of extras, though very funny in parts, doesnt quite reach the heights of series one because the humour seems a bit contrived whereas in series one the programme had a far more natural feel to it a la the office......or is it just me?

However, to agree with you, I think the first series was better, because it was no new, so different. I cried with laughter at the Kate Winslet and Les Dennis ones, and nothing this series has topped those, in my opinion.

I'd agree with you 100% mbuzz. I posted something on this a while ago, and haven't seen fit to change my views.

Mind you, having said that, there are some "LOL" moments (and I really enjoyed the last 2 episodes). What more could we ask for?! I just hope there's no more series after this to water down the legacy.

I agree, i do love Ricky Gervais & think that he and Stephen Merchant are brilliant writers but i think one of the problems if that they are getting too many celebrities involved. Its fine when they are genuine actors but having clips of Richard & Judy, Matthew Wright etc makes it all the less real as these people can't act; it was funny seeing Chris Martin take the pi** out of himself but not believeable at all, unlike Kate Winslet in series one who was brilliant - and the whole Moira Stewart thing was just embarassing. Ian McKellan explaning how to act last night was very funny.
