I missed 'Afterlife' last weekend (usually shown on a saturday evening). I was looking forward to catching up tonight only to see in the tv listings that it's not on - can anyone enlighten me as to why please? And when I can catch it again.

ITV appear to be showing something involving 2 men with padded hands slugging 7 bells out of each other. not really sure what the point of that is. I would rather have watch "Afterlife" as well.
Didn't know it wasn't on till I saw this post- checked TV guide (not that I didn't believe mushroom!!) and was gutted to find it's not on :-(
I was sad enough to actually email ITV to ask because I just HAD to know. They emailed back very quickly to tell me that they had a contractual agreement to show the boxing but assured me that it would be shown again next week. I was looking forward to that too. Don't you just hate when they do that ? I also asked them if the recent storyline with Andrew Lincoln's character being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour spelled the end for the show or if they planned to continue with a different actor - which in my opinion would not be the same. They said that they have passed my comments on to the people who deal with the storyline to get back to me as soon as. I do hope that this show continues. It makes staying in on a saturday night worthwhile.
On a slightly different thread, Mizfiesta, what happened at th end of the episode 2 weeks ago where the baby was being haunted through the monitor? The tension was building so much and as soon as i saw the bloke put the baby in the bath, knowing thats how the fist baby had died I couldn't bear to watch it anymore cos i was soooo scared something nasty was going to happen to the poor mite.
What a wuss.
so, how did it end?
The dad drowned the baby Sausagegirl. He was possessed by the spirit of the other dad. It did'nt show him drowning the baby just his wife going into the bathroom and screaming whilst the dad collapsed crying:-(.
Part 1 : Actually Daisy , the dad didn't drown the dad. He was tormented by the constant taunting voice through the baby monitor and was at breaking point. It was only when his wife - who had previously rubbished his claims of the voice in the monitor - heard the voice for herself , calling her a bad mother who didn't deserve her baby , that they decided to go and stay with her mother.

They packed their belongings into their car and as Alison came to have a final plea with them to leave the property , it kept cutting from Alison talking to his wife and reasuring her that they were doing the right thing and the father who had gone into the baby's room and discovered that he had soiled his nappy. When he said to his son "oh you're going to need more than a clean nappy" I knew that he meant a bath and I was on the edge of my seat. Once in the bathroom , the voice continued taunting through the monitor and the father got angry , ripped it out of the wall and ran out into the hall to throw it down the stairs shouting "He's my son. You can't have him". The bathroom door slammed shut and the baby was left alone in the bath. The father began screaming hysterically and started pounding the door shouting "Oh please god no".

Part 2 : The spirit's voice could be heard saying "It's okay , you won't have to listen to him for much longer" . The father's wife and Alison heard the screams ands ran upstairs. By this time the door was open and the father was sitting sobbing in the bathroom. Alison remained in the hall and his wife went in and started screaming uncontrollably. It was at this point that you could hear the baby giggling through the monitor and as Alison gazed in horror at the baby monitor , you heard the spirit's voice say something like "It's okay. You're with daddy now" It was a really chilling episode and to be honest I found it a bit disturbing. Perhaps because I am a mother of very small children and this is such a well publicised danger to young kids. Nailbiting stuff though it has to be said.

Can anyone tell me what happened in the next episode to the one with the baby monitor being haunted? The psychologist guy had just been diagnosed with a brain tumour - what happened with him? Does Alison know about it? How long does he have left?
